Blizzard 2009!

So, for those of you who are located in other countries or up north, feel free to have a giggle at NC's expense. This is our version of a snowfall (we get these up to once a year!) and it is truly magical to us. Schools shut down (some areas got up to two whole inches, you see), kids enjoy the day and parents freeze their butts off to take pictures. Perfect!

Of course, I jest (mostly). Our area of the country is not equipped to deal with snow and tons of ice, so we prefer to play it safe and enjoy our days at home during inclement weather. Some areas of the city got more, but we barely got a dusting here near downtown. Luckily, three year olds get excited easily, so our sparse dusting was enough to entertain Miss Lily. Since our baby flip procedure was cancelled today, we get to stay in our warm house and enjoy the snow and the President's Innauguration (Go Obama!).
Tentative first steps...

You KNOW I will have a good laugh at that. lol. We don't even bother to look out the window for that :) Plus we have had 4+inches on the ground for weeks and its too cold for it to melt. But I agree, it is dependent on what your city is prepared for. Because we can drive pretty much anytime because of the salt trucks and the plows. They get out before the snow starts! Im glad Lily enjoyed her snowflakes today though :) The music during the inauguration rocked!

I had to comment on the dirt angel too. It is equally awesome, adorable and hilarious.
