Imagination & Preschool

SO much is going on lately and again, my blogging is just so slack. I would like to apologize to Future Colin for not documenting his babyhood as well as I did his sisters. The good news is that I'm usually too busy hugging him and doing semi-productive stuff to write!

Here's whats been keeping me busy: a very talkative and busy 18 month old, Lily starting preschool, planning a wedding that is coming faster than I can imagine, working for a company from home, my photography stuff has gone crazy hectic and WE ARE BUYING A HOUSE! Yes, you read that right. We are like total adults now or something. Well, just being honest, Devin is buying it alone because my credit is whack, but whatever. The house is in downtown Belmont and is super cute. It will need a bit of work before we can move in, but we should be able to close the end of this month if all goes well!

So my boy is still on development-explosion mode. He's gotten so good at following directions, he can take stuff to the kitchen, to the trash, and follow pretty simple commands. I am loving this age! Well, except for the temper tantrums, but whatever. His imagination is in overdrive! In the picture above, he dressed himself entirely like Daddy, even down to the sunglasses around the neck. He also is really into cooking right now -- to the point of getting dirty dishes out the sink (oops) and playing with them. He also empties the dishwasher or any drawer he can wiggle has hands into so that he can get stuff to play cooking with. He made a stove out of Lily's Leapad and kept telling me "its hot" as he stirred each dish. He's incredibly creative in his play already and its so much fun to watch him act out new things.

My little lady started preschool!!! Oh, it was a sad day for Mommy, of course, Lily was beyond stoked. She loves her school and a plus for me is that they feed her 2 meals a day and a snack! She's been so excited to do her "homework," which so far, has only consisted of reading books with her parents. I am missing my little buddy while she's gone (her school runs 8-2 M-F), but its sort of neat to have some one-on-one time with Colin. My baby is growing up way too fast!!!!
